Future Media are looking for a Business Development Manager with strong persuasive and negotiation skills with a track record of successful achievements within media, broadcast or new media sectors with excellent understanding of the connected TV market and relevant technologies. Ideally with experience of working alongside to development teams to deliver services on connected TV or TV platforms. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, establishing and managing partnership deals to support FM divisional objectives as well as ensuring that the BBC is kept up to date with industry trends and market developments.
The role of the Business Development Manager is to work alongside other members of the team, as well as internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal), to achieve goals in connection with the delivery of key partnership opportunities and successfully manage relationships with key players in the Connected TV market.
The Business Development function within Future Media plays a key role in a) delivering partnerships that drive increased reach and audience engagement b) the execution of the BBC’s partnership proposals and c) successfully driving relationships within the technology sector which improve the BBC’s ability to be innovative, open and efficient.
The ideal candidate will have experience from a connected TV Market. They will have strong persuasiveness and negotiation skills as well as relationship management. They would have a track record of successful achievements within media, broadcast or new media sectors with excellent understanding of the connected TV market and relevant technologies.
Experience of working alongside development teams to deliver services on connected TV or TV platforms and working with manufacturers and platform operators to deliver compelling end user propositions. They would have an understanding and experience of legal terminology and contract negotiation and appreciation of the complexities of working in a large-scale, public service organisation and experience managing diverse internal stakeholder interests.
As an accomplished communicator, orally and in writing, they would enjoy working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines, have excellent organisational skills and an ability to manage own time and that of others effectively. With a positive and outgoing approach, inspiring to others and excellent grasp and passion for issues affecting or likely to affect the broader digital landscape. They would be goal oriented and hungry for success, have a creative approach to problem solving and be personable, with a proven ability to develop successful long-term business relationships.
