The Web Developer role is an ideal opportunity to work in a large team on extremely high profile products used by an audience of millions.

The BBC Future Media team develops and supports the most visited content websites in the UK. You'll be part of a team of technical staff working in Salford on the user interfaces of a range of BBC products.

The ideal candidate will have experience of developing web games and rich internet applications in multi-disciplinary teams including work on medium/complex projects.

-Experience of owning the specification of technical requirements and creating detailed and accurate project estimates.

-Experience of delivering written designs for a project with sign-off by a senior and participation in the review of requirements specifications and project plans

-Experience of working with business stakeholders and suppliers.

-Experience of working with senior technical and non-technical staff with credibility and confidence.

-A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area.

-A portfolio demonstrating development experience with high quality games and applications.

The technical experience the candidate would need would be excellent Actionscript (AS3) programming skills, with good knowledge of OOP and design patterns.

-Excellent Javascript skills, with experience of developing for HTML5 specification.

-Experience of building high performing, optimised web games and applications.

-Experience of working with and contributing to open source Actionscript/Javascript libraries.

-Knowledge of accessibility, usability, cross-browser compatibility issues.

-Experience of working with Actionscript / Javascript APIs .

-Experience of working with AS libraries relevant to game development. For example Away3D, Flixel,Box2d, Bulkloader, Greensock, RobotLegs, PureMVC.

-Experience of developing projects in an agile manner.

-Demonstrable experience of using code repositories SVN/GIT.
